Owner - Matt Faulkner

Matt Faulkner, PLS, CFedS
Owner/Operator

Matt is a Professional Land Surveyor & Certified Federal Surveyor (CFedS) with nearly 20 years of experience across the western United States. His experience includes surveys for cadastral, control, design, and construction as well as surveying for the utility and industrial sectors. Matt possess’ strong project management skills to manage multiple large projects along with meeting client specific deliverables, aggressive deliverable schedules and project standards. Matt possesses a passion for the profession of land surveying and it shows in his work product and client communication. Matt holds professional land surveying licenses in OR, WA, ID, MT, AK & NM. Matt Graduated from Oregon Institute of Technology’s Geomatics Baccalaureate program in 2005. He also instructed evening courses at Clark College’s Land Surveying and Geomatic’s Associates Degree program for 8 years.

Owner - Chris Sherby

Chris Sherby, PLS
Owner/Operator

Chris is an owner and operator at S&F Land Services. He started his first survey position at age 16. Having started college 2 years early, he was able to continuously survey part-time from that point, and all through his college years. Upon graduating with a degree in Geomatics from the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT), he continued surveying full-time while instructing college courses part-time. He instructed courses at OIT for the first year, then in Clark Community College’s Geomatics and Land Survey Associates Degree program for the following 12 years, where he now sits on the Advisory Board. Chris obviously enjoys the academics and profession of land surveying, but he has found a passion in creating an environment where survey and mapping professionals can perform quality work. He believes S&F sets the bar for professional survey support, and of equal importance – exceptional customer service. When not surveying, Chris enjoys performing/composing music - and annoying/embarrassing his kids.

Management - Andrew Huston

Andrew Huston, PLS
Director of Survey Operations

Born and raised in Bend, Andrew attended Santa Clara University in their Civil Engineering program and upon his return to Bend was hired as a surveyor to assist with field work, a career was born. Andrew has 25+ years of experience in the survey industry managing projects and teams, large and small, public and private, throughout the northwest. The last 18+ years of which he has focused on mentoring, leading and growing survey teams throughout Oregon by creating, a client focused attitude, more efficient workflows, effective communication, daily scheduling routines, and most importantly, a healthy and fun work atmosphere. Andrew has a passion for the history and nobility of the land survey profession, a passion he focuses on his clients and the professional growth of his team members. When not enjoying the comradery of his teammates Andrew is spending time with his friends/family, usually outdoors, and chasing his teenage son around to lacrosse tournaments.

Jon Ellinger - CP,CMS-RS,GISP
Remote Sensing Manager

Jon is an ASPRS Certified Photogrammetrist and Mapping Scientist in Remote Sensing with a passion for all things photography related. Jon holds a MAS Degree in Remote Sensing from OSU and has extensive experience with a broad range of sensors such as LiDAR, thermal, hyperspectral, and infrared with a principal expertise in the production and analysis of high-resolution aerial ortho imagery. Jon is an ambassador for Pix4D and has processed over 14,000 miles of utility corridor data, over 7 million acres of wide area manned aerial surveys and over 600 UAV datasets during his 17-year aerial mapping career.

PLS - Josh Kowalski

Josh Kowalski, PLS, CMS-UAS
Project Manager / Remote Sensing Surveyor

Josh is a registered Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Oregon and has 10 years of experience in the geospatial industry. He has flown and processed over 500 UAV photogrammetry and LiDAR datasets primarily for engineering and design projects. He has completed over 200 terrestrial scanning projects in the energy sector. He holds an AAS in Geomatics, a BS in GIS/RS and a Master's Certificate in sUAS Remote Sensing. He is an ASPRS Certified Mapping Scientist.

Angie Cole

Angie is the Marketing and Business Development Director at S&F Land Services, bringing over a decade of experience in strategic branding, client engagement, and business growth. With a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Syracuse University and an MBA in Marketing for Sustainable Business from Marylhurst University, she combines analytical thinking with creative storytelling to strengthen S&F’s presence in the land surveying industry. Passionate about building relationships and effective communication, Angie helps drive business success while ensuring S&F continues to set the standard for professional survey support and exceptional client service. When not working, she enjoys spending time with family and traveling.

John Blaikie, PLS, CFedS

John has over 26 years of experience and is a 1999 graduate from the British Columbia Institute of Technology with an Associate Degree in Geomatics Engineering. He is currently licensed in Washington, Oregon and a Certified Federal Surveyor. John specializes in resolving complex surveys that require extensive research and analysis, providing thorough land surveying services with cost effective solutions and using the latest technologies for land survey applications. He delivers exceptional client service and is skilled in all aspects of land surveying that apply to both private and public project sectors. His knowledge, expertise and familiarity with jurisdictional requirements allows each project to be given a high-level quality of service and attention to detail from beginning to end ensuring that all delivered final products are in conformance with the client’s needs.

PLS - Arrin Oishi

Arrin has worked in the land surveying industry for over 20 years. After earning his degree at Oregon State University in Forest Engineering, he worked from the ground up as a chainman to becoming a branch manager leading a team of office and field crews, managing projects, and serving as client liaison for S&F. He has deep expertise in all types of public and private survey projects from individual residential homes to large multi-phase subdivisions, mixed use, commercial, industrial, public infrastructure, utilities, and construction staking across the Northwest. Arrin is a father of two and, when not at the office, enjoys sharing his love of the outdoors with his family.

PLS - Brad Rhoades

Brad is originally from Bellingham, WA and closing in on more time in Bend, OR to call it his second hometown. He initially went to college at the University of Montana where he earned a degree in Marketing and Management and was a member of the UM football team. After 8 years of working in Marketing and Supply Chain he was presented with the opportunity to pursue a career that was fueled by stories of his family’s homesteading in the Pacific Northwest. Brad recalibrated his career by earning a Geomatic degree from the Oregon Institute of Technology and has never looked back after realizing he’d found a profession full of history, adventure, challenges and tied to the outdoors. Brad is currently licensed in Oregon, Idaho and currently pursuing additional western states. During his free time, Brad enjoys floating down any river he can get a permit for and raising his two daughters.
